Joe Moses, the first ever
Aboriginal chair of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, is spearheading a
combined Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal business communities event with the
Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund.

APEX鈥攖he Aboriginal
Business Exchange will take place in June. The goal of APEX is to inform
businesses and community partners about opportunities to grow the economy
through partnerships with Aboriginal communities.
听
Partnerships include
business ventures as well as meeting workforce needs. 鈥淭he abundance of natural
resources we have in northern Ontario 鈥撎齧ining, forestry, energy-related
鈥撎齮hey鈥檙e the backbone of our economy, and those projects simply won鈥檛
happen without the proper engagement of all stakeholders," Moses
said.听He added that听the networking opportunities provided by APEX
will听help start the conversation.
